Quarry Street
This client wanted to create a versatile working/living space in the form of a garden room. They had a clear vision of the desired aesthetic being a modernist style with exposed brick and framed window panels.
A store room with a separate door to the rear of the main room was built so that the building could be multi-functional in its uses. The style of brick was chosen to be in keeping with the house itself for design continuity and crittall style framed panel aluminium windows with a glazed door were installed. Fixed rooflights were installed in the roof to add to influx of natural light into the garden room. The roof was finished with skyline copings to create a sleek look to the edges.
Internally, underfloor heat mats were installed in the garden room and beautiful encaustic tiles were then laid on top. A log burner was fitted creating a cosy warm feeling within the outbuilding, the installation of this was co-ordinated with the roof construction to ensure the flue could be installed at the correct time.
Externally, landscaping was undertaken in the garden creating a new lawn, stone edging and new terrazo slabs were laid at either end of the garden to complete the look.
